What goes into every shower we build.
The part you will never see decides how long the part you see lasts.
- Schluter waterproofing system on every shower, installed to the manufacturer's spec.
- Shower pan sloped to the drain, set solid so it never flexes underfoot.
- Walls waterproofed and tiled, with a recessed niche built into the wall.
- Plumbing and electrical by the trades we work with on every job, scheduled by us.
- Grout joints kept tight and consistent, cleaned before we leave.
- A walkthrough together before we call it done.
Built layer by layer.
Everything that keeps water out of your walls happens before the first tile goes up.
- 01
Framing
2x4 studs at 16 inches on center, with solid blocking behind the valve, the shower head, the grab bar and the niche.
- 02
Schluter board
Schluter board goes straight onto the studs, fastened with screws and washers. It is the backer and the waterproofing in one panel, and the niche is made of the same board.
- 03
Sealed seams and floor
Every joint and corner is sealed with Schluter band, and the pipes get sealing collars. The Schluter shower tray slopes the floor to a linear drain.
- 04
Tile
Large-format porcelain on the walls and a mosaic floor pitched to the drain. The niche is tiled in and edged in brushed brass.
- 05
Glass and fixtures
A frameless glass panel, then the shower head, the valve trim and the drain grate go in last.
